It all started when…
I took this photo to prepare for my world domination. Just kidding but if that ever does happen, this image is definitely making the cut.
I grew up in Connecticut all my life and am a daughter of Vietnamese immigrants. My heritage has been such a huge part of my life, and my travels to Vietnam have fueled my interest in exploring the world beyond New England. Being a University of Connecticut alum has lead me to have invaluable connections and experiences, such as being a journalist for Asian media company NextShark and developing growing storytelling media organization The Chinatown Project. I went back to my roots, telling my father’s immigrant story with Fujifilm and allowing me to further develop my skills as a storyteller above all else.
I started off taking photos of my friends in college to make some ends meet and find a creative outlet among some stressful situations. I’m blessed to be turning what started as a small hobby into an incredible journey where I get to be a part of stranger’s lives that turn into family.
